Foreshore gains ISO 27001 certification

Datacentre and IT services company Foreshore has gained ISO 27001 certification. The globally recognised standard provides independent assurance for the quality of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) at Foreshore.

Awarded to organisations whose business processes conform to strict international standards, the ISO 27001 accreditation validates Foreshore's commitment to protecting customers' valuable information assets by maintaining the most stringent procedures governing security, resilience, and business continuity. Foreshore's Technical Director, Derek Fage said "We are delighted to have received this recognition for the quality of our Information Security Management Systems. This represents a concerted effort by the whole company and we are committed to continually improving the quality of our security systems and the assurances we can provide to customers."

The ISO 27001 certification follows a rigorous external audit by the company's chosen independent auditor, the British Standards Institute (BSI). In order to maintain the certification, Foreshore will undergo both internal and external audits annually.

The company also gained PCI DSS accreditation as a level 1 service provider in August 2009 and the combination of these two standards will be a key differentiator for the company. Managing Director, Chris Evans said "As IT services delivered from beyond the business perimeter (such as cloud) continue to grow, so too does the risk of data breach and data security has become the single most critical issue for customers.  This certification is further evidence that Foreshore manages its customers' confidential data to the very highest security standards, providing our ecommerce and financial services customers with the level of trust and assurance that they demand."
