Foreshore has partnered with EVault Inc., the leading provider of network backup, recovery and software services, and is now able to deliver online data protection and recovery solutions to an international client base from its world class datacentres.
The backup and recovery solution is especially suited to companies with distributed offices as all of the remote offices can be managed from a single central location using the firm’s existing network / internet infrastructure. Since no additional hardware or personnel are required, considerable savings in time, money, and effort can be achieved as well as reinforcing compliance with data retention legislation.
Andrew Jarrett, sales director of Foreshore, said "The technology has a proven background in the business environment and was designed from the outset to work over the internet enabling fast, secure data backups regardless of operating system, database or business application. Following a soft launch to a select number of customers earlier in the year, the service has been very well received and we have clients in the Caribbean using the service as part of their disaster recovery strategy as well as Channel Islands’ clients who have migrated from tape technology to this service."
Julie Coward, managing director of Basel Trust Group, said "The Foreshore Online Backup service is a complete backup and recovery solution for our firm. We have offices in four jurisdictions and, prior to taking this service, the issues associated with ensuring that daily backups were achieved and tapes successfully stored offsite represented a significant operational headache. Administering the new service is simple as it effectively takes care of itself with data always available for restoration anywhere. As an additional benefit, the service has simultaneously solved the company’s disaster recovery requirements for our remote locations without having to implement other solutions. The cost savings of this disaster recovery aspect alone are significant without taking into account those savings generated on the costs of the backups."
