Reliable email continuity
Smart Perimeter is a highly efficient, cost-effective solution. With the rise in the importance and frequency of email communication no company can afford to be without a plan to maintain email continuity in the event of a mail server outage for whatever reason – be it as a result of human error, hardware failure or natural disaster to name but a few. Mimecast Offshore Smart Perimeter ensures a seamless switchover in order to prevent costly downtime. It allows users to log-in via a rich web mail client using their common username and password and to access and send new mail. Previous mail is available according to a pre-determined policy. Smart Perimeter acts as a live standby mail server at the perimeter, accepting and spooling mail until the primary mail server is available to receive it. This allows end users access to mail that wouldn’t otherwise be available to them through other solutions. End users are also able to access mail even in the event of a complete site outage.
