Email content control/ supervision
With compliance regulations moving companies towards taking greater responsibility for emails, retention of emails is not the only area of increasing importance - the content of emails being sent has a massive impact on a company’s image and reputation. As email use continues to grow rapidly the importance of an easy system for managing and supervising the content of email becomes an even greater priority. Naturally, with the sheer volume of emails generated on a daily basis, individual scrolling through emails becomes an impractical task. Smart Perimeter allows the administrator easy access and control by means of a "hold for review" supervision function.T his function is set up to match the company’s review policy and allows designated reviewers to preview any such emails and to determine their delivery.
Large attachment handling
Mimecast Offshore’s large attachment handling capabilities are time-saving and improve the efficiency of email management. Large email attachments are likely to cause storage bloat in the mail stores of most companies when received on a regular basis. Given that the most common way of sharing files between companies is through email attachments this is a situation which is likely to become increasingly difficult to manage. Additionally, bounce-back issues can call on the need for IT support, which costs the company time and money. Smart Perimeter replaces the file attachment with an encrypted hyperlink, allowing the mail recipient to download the file themselves and preventing the usual problems from manifesting themselves. End users are also in a better position to save downloaded files on the file system and not have them build up in the email system.
